Thank you to all of those who helped us celebrate our wedding last weekend! The wedding was beautiful and filled with loving faces just as I imagined. The reception was a blast and we rocked the dance floor from 7pm – 12am!! It was a wonderful and amazing weekend and I can not thank you all enough for everything. John and I are so happy and are enjoying married life!!

The Wedding

Our wedding will be on Friday, May 22nd. We have decided to make it a family event. The wedding is being held at the Lutheran church that John and I have been attending in Plano, Texas.

The Reception

The reception will be on Saturday, May 23rd at 7:00 pm. The party is being held at Heritage Ranch Country Club in Fairview, Texas. There will be tons of food, adult beverages and cake so come out and celebrate with us! We look forward to seeing you there.

Brunch on Sunday

We will be hosting a brunch on Sunday, May 24th at 10:30 am for anyone who would like to join us. The brunch will be at my parents house in McKinney, Texas. We will eat, chat and open gifts. If you are family, friends or in from out of town please join us!

Hotel Information

If you are coming in for the big event from out of town there are several hotel options that are relatively close to the church and the reception location.

In an effort to make it a little easier for those of you traveling we have reserved a block of rooms at the Hampton Inn in Allen. The rate for the event is $89 per night. Just tell them you are with the Lammert/Chappelle wedding when you make your reservation and you will receive the event rate.

The Proposal

Saturday, December 6, 2008 was a day we will remember forever. John and I went to my Dad’s annual Christmas barber shop chorus concert. Dinner was planned for after the concert and we were excited to be joined by my Dad, his quartet, my Mom, and Georgia (one of the other barber shopper wives).

My Mom, Georgia, John and I arrived at the restaurant right after the concert ended. We ordered some food and awaited the barber shop guys (My Dad, Karl, Scot, and Dave). When the guys arrived they did as they usually do and broke into song for the whole restaurant to enjoy. They started out with “For the Longest Time” by Billy Joel. Then after that they broke into “I Love You Truly,” which you might know from the movie It’s a Wonderful Life. I was not too surprised because I had heard the guys sing this song on Valentine’s Day. Then, about halfway through the song, John pushed back his chair from the table, pulled a ring box out of his pocket and asked me to marry him! Of course, I said “Yes!” very enthusiastically.

It was a very special night and was an amazing experience. I loved that my Mom, Dad, and the quartet were there to share it as well. Since my Dad’s quartet, Smooth Brew, was a special part of the engagement and our lives they have agreed to perform at the wedding and at the reception. I am looking forward to the events in May and becoming Mrs. Jennifer Chappelle!!

Our Story

John and I met in the fall of 2006 at work. We were both working for Aztec Systems at the time. I was in sales and John was in the IT department.

John says his first memory of me is before he even met me. He and another guy at work got the privilege of moving a desk into my office before I started and apparently it was pretty heavy!

John and I met and became friends. We started hanging out with a mutual friend, Teresa. Through our many dinner and happy hour outings we became more than just friends. John asked me out on our first date on April 24, 2007. We dated steadily for about a year and a half and he proposed on December 6, 2008.

We will be married on May 22, 2009. This has been a fun and exciting journey and I am looking forward to everything that is to come!
